Judge: Maria Pilar Marrero is political editor of La Opinion in Los Angeles. She has won the National Association of Hispanic Publications outstanding prize for reporting on Latin America and was part of a team of La Opinion reporters that won two awards from the Interamerican Press. Her weekly column, "Actualidad Política," provides analysis and commentary on political issues relevant to the Latino community.
