Isley's firm, formed in 1988, won the 1995 Federal Design Achievement Award for work on the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum. In 1993, Isley was named to I.D. magazine's list of the nation's 40 most influential designers. Before starting his firm in 1988, he was the first fulltime art director of Spy magazine.
