"Letdown"
"Beautifully composed, tightly-cropped shot. The photo has a great sense of immediacy and we immediately knew what was going on. Great light and the hurdler is nicely framed between the two figures, also with great emotion. No question definitely first place."
ROB SCHUMACHER
The Arizona Republic
"Bubble Game"
"A clean, unexpected shot. Shows an unguarded moment and lets the pro baseball player's personality come through."
DARRYL WEBB
The Tribune
"No Hit Kiss"
"The photographer had to know the game and had to anticipate what would happen afterwards. The photo captured in one shot the essence of the game."
DEIRDRE HAMILL
The Arizona Republic
"Busted"
"We have seen similar events occur, but the angle, composition and body language made this photo of an unruly fan being arrested a winner."
