Tickets: Tickets are $35 each, or $350 for a table of 10, which includes banquet entry, admittance to the Heard museum galleries and dinner.

Don't miss The Arizona Press Club's annual banquet -- a showcase of the state's best journalism -- starting at 6 p.m. May 10 at the Heard Museum in downtown Phoenix. Wander the museum galleries during happy hour and mingle with fellow journalists and dance to musical entertainment provided by Leo Blaze, a mixer featured on 95.1 Latino Vibe. We're proud to have Ted Simons, host of Horizons, as our emcee this year. We're shooting for a shorter program this year, folks. So the desert journos can spend more time networking, socializing and avoiding their editors.

We'll also bestow some scholarship monies to deserving journalism students, the Distinguished Service Award to a veteran Arizona journalist and an infamous Brick Wall Award -- or two -- to the individuals and government entities who stand between journalists and the public records they seek.

Tickets are $35 each, or $350 for a table of ten, which includes entry and dinner. Bring cash if you plan to use the no-host bar. Parking is free. Dress code is the nice stuff in your closet between the formal gown and the torn jeans. All registration forms must include the names of those attending. For example, if paying for two people to attend, list on the form the people paid for. Please note whether they work for the publication, or are a guest, so we can keep the name tags accurate.

Publications and attendees must include the names of employees and guests they are paying for. Employees whose names are not on their publication's list may also register separately. All attendees must pre-pay. No "at-the-door" payments will be accepted the night of the event. The event is capped at 300 attendees, get your registration in early!
