Don't miss The Arizona Press Club's annual banquet -- a showcase of the state's best journalism -- starting at 6 p.m. May 16 at ASU's new J-school building in downtown Phoenix. Mingle with fellow journalists during happy hour. We're once again shooting for a shorter program this year, folks. So the desert journos can spend more time networking, socializing and avoiding their editors.
We'll also bestow some scholarship monies to deserving
journalism students, the Distinguished Service Award to a veteran Arizona
journalist and an infamous Brick Wall Award -- or two -- to the individuals and
government entities who stand between journalists and the public records they
seek.
Tickets are $15 each, which includes entry and an appetizer buffet. Bring cash
for parking and the no-host bar. Dress code is the nice stuff in your closet between
the formal gown and the torn jeans. Deadline to pay by mail with a check/money order is
May 7, mail

receive an email confirmation from the volunteer banquet crew, but we have day
jobs too so please don't expect it the same day you pay online.
All registration forms must include the names of those attending. For example, if paying for two people to attend, list on the form the people paid for. Please note whether they work for the publication, or are a guest, so we can keep the name tags accurate.
Publications and attendees must include the names of employees and guests
they are paying for. Employees whose names are not on their
publication's list may also register
separately. All attendees must pre-pay. No
"at-the-door" payments will be accepted the night of the event.
The
event is capped due to space restrictions; please get your registration in early!
