Don't miss The Arizona Press Club's annual banquet — a showcase of the state's best journalism — starting at 5:30 p.m. May 15 at ASU's new J-school building in downtown Phoenix. Mingle with fellow journalists during happy half-hour; the program gets underway at 6 p.m. We're once again shooting for a shorter program this year, folks. So you can spend more time networking, socializing and avoiding your editor — and get out in time for a late dinner.
Press Club is
proud to have
three-time
Emmy Award-winning journalist Cathering Anaya
as emcee. We'll
bestow scholarship monies to deserving journalism students, the
Distinguished Service to Journalism Award to veteran Arizona journalist
Howard Fischer of Capitol
Media Services
and an infamous
Brick Wall Award
— or two—
to the individuals or government entities who stand between journalists
and the public records they seek.
Tickets are $15 each, which includes entry and an appetizer buffet. There's free
weekend parking. Bring cash for the no-host bar. Dress code is the nice stuff in your closet between
the formal gowns and torn jeans.
Deadline to pay by mail with a check/money order is May 7, mail to: Arizona Press Club, PO Box 16427 Phoenix, AZ 85011-6427.
Or, pay online with a credit card through May 12th. Click the "PayPal Payments" button below to pay and email your registration info to banquet@azpressclub.org. You will receive an email confirmation from the volunteer banquet crew, but we have day jobs too so please don't expect it the same day you pay online.
All registration forms must include the names of those attending. For example, if paying for two people to attend, list on the form the people paid for. Please note whether they work for the publication, or are a guest, so we can keep the name tags accurate.
*Publications and attendees must include the names of employees and guests they are paying for. Employees whose names are not on their publication's list may also register separately. ASU policy requires security to check a list of attendees to gain access to the building during non-public hours.
All attendees must pre-pay. No "at-the-door" payments will be accepted the night of the event. The event is capped due to space restrictions; please get your registration in early! Registration will not be taken over the phone and payment may be made only with check/money order (postmarked by May 7) or with a credit card via PayPal (through May 12th).
