Event starts at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, with the program beginning promptly at 6 p.m., in the second floor First Amendment Forum, ASU Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Comm. (AKA “The Cronk”), 555 N. Central Ave., Phoenix. Click here for directions
*ASU policy requires its security check a list of attendees to gain access to the building during non-public hours. Guests must stop at security in the lobby. Then, please take an elevator to second floor and pick up name badge from registration tables.
* Arizona Press Club secured special permission from ASU and obtained liquor license approval from Phoenix and the Arizona Department of Liquor License & Control to have a no-host bar at this event. Please bring your ID - bartenders will ask for it. Please note liquor license rules and do not take alcohol out of the First Amendment Forum. The banquet chair and board could be cited for any alcohol violations. The board appreciate your attention to this important matter.
-The appetizer buffet will be ready at 5:30 p.m. and the awards program will begin at 6 p.m.
-Please bring cash if you plan to purchase beer, wine, mixed drinks or soda from the bar.
Note: the appetizer buffet includes iced tea and coffee.
-The dress code is cocktail attire. Figure it falls somewhere in between informal and formal — we don't usually see tuxes and ball gowns, or ripped jeans and sneakers.
Parking options
- Free weekend parking is available at the ASU Visitor lot just north of the Cronk on Fillmore St., and to the east of the school in the University Center Parking Garage on Polk St., between First St. and Central Ave.,
- A $5 flat-fee lot in the northwest corner of Fillmore and First streets
-parking meters cost $1.50 per hour. Note that some meters are one-hour only and all meters must be paid through 8 p.m. on Saturdays.
- Light rail trains run every 20 minutes after 7 p.m. Last full trips start at 11 p.m. and reaches opposite end of the line at midnight. More info: http://www.valleymetro.org/metro_light_rail/
